Camila Caceres

Camila Cáceres was born in 1989 in Lima, Peru. She received a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA (2022).
Her work investigates the relationship between abandonment, memory, and mythological landscapes as a means of understanding her identity and connection to the environment. Her pieces explore the intra-action between the natural and the urban, where forgotten objects are transformed into vessels of stories, memories, and personal mythologies. These works invite introspection and the exploration of the unknown, challenging the linearity of time and the concept of belonging. Her sculptures serve as points of containment, refuges where viewers can dwell and weave narratives that question the notion of a single reality, prompting us to reflect on the complexity of our own experiences.
